Duro-Sense Thermocouples — Now Partnering with Modern Instrument

Home / About

Forty years of getting the reading right.

Duro-Sense has spent over four decades designing and manufacturing temperature sensors for the industries with the least room for error.

Our approach

Quality & accuracy, on-time delivery.

Duro-Sense provides the process temperature measurement and control industry with the finest quality products and services available. We're dedicated to maintaining the standard our customers have come to expect — not because it's expected of us, but because a wrong reading in aerospace or power generation isn't a minor inconvenience.

Our exclusive techniques and proven design work have earned Duro-Sense a reputation built on innovative engineering, product reliability, and support that doesn't end at the sale. Our R&D team works out of our Carson, California facility to keep advancing what our sensors can do.

Company timeline

Four decades, one focus.

1980s

Founded in Gardena, California

Duro-Sense begins manufacturing thermocouples and RTDs for the process temperature measurement and control industry.

Ongoing

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation

Our calibration laboratory earns and maintains accreditation, giving customers NIST-traceable, audit-ready results.

2025

Acquired by Industrial Control Solutions

Duro-Sense joins the ICS platform, supported by LDR Partners LP, alongside sister brands Thomas Products, Whitman Controls, and Load Controls — and, for calibration and compliance services, Modern Instrument Controls.

Today

One-stop instrumentation

Customers get precision temperature sensing hardware from Duro-Sense, backed by a wider platform covering flow, level, and pressure instrumentation.

Mission

Solving temperature sensing challenges other suppliers won't take on.

Whether it's a catalog thermocouple or a fully custom assembly for a one-off application, our engineers work directly with customers to design, manufacture, and deliver a sensor that fits — not a close-enough substitute.
